Charity和Philanthropy都有慈善的意思，有啥区别？

在一篇关于比尔盖茨的阅读理解里，提到了philanthropy和charity。有朋友觉得这句话翻译的不准确，没有体现区别。经过咨询native，那就是这两个词在英文语境里差别不大。这一点跟词典解释的差不多：

charity：a system of giving money, food, or help free to those who are in need because they are ill, poor, or have no home, or any organization that has the purpose of providing money or helping in this way 慈善事业；慈善组织，慈善机构

philanthropy：the activity of helping the poor, especially by giving them money

如果一定要区分，那么charity强调的是组织行为和分享，而philanthropy是activity。
